We went camping this weekend. In a tent. In the woods. In another state. In the mountains. Everyone told me I was crazy for taking my almost-3-year-old triplets on a real camping trip. I told them it’d be fine. It’d be fun. They’d do great.
They were wrong. I was right. It was fun. They [...]
Friends. I am SO excited about a new collaborative blog I just started working with. We Still Read is a new site run by four lovely mamas (Yes, I just called myself lovely. AND?), who somehow manage to still read while carrying on busy lives as wives, employees, mothers, etc., of the whopping nine [...]
Wistful. Melancholy. Proud. Satisfied.
Toby is done breastfeeding. I once wondered how long he’d wake every night (19 months). I once joked that he’d breastfeed the night before kindergarten. He was my first to take a full feeding at the breast (and promptly sleep in the most epic milk coma I’ve witnessed) in NICU and [...]
There aren’t many aspects of parenting triplets that isn’t mind-boggling.
I learned early on (though I struggled for a while before learning) that thinking ahead will only send me into a panic. I probably sound blasé, but my approach on most future endeavors is “I’ll figure it out when I need to.”
Not only is [...]
Yesterday’s toddler playground visit was eye-opening.
My babies – my tiny, easy-to-run-into-and-knock-down babies – were the big kids on the playground for the first time.
The playground is normally deserted, and my trio play happily by themselves. Yesterday, a family with one little girl, probably between 18 and 24 months old, made a cautious approach. [...]
H2O & vitamin D. Health food, yo.
Part deux of my warm-weather celebration.
Backyard @fitnessblender workout while ETC play. Spring, please stay till June! #triplets
The "balance beams" were the highlight of our hike. Rob said, "I guess we need a balance beam in the backyard, huh?"
Whew! So I'm NOT a shitty mother because I fantasize about joining the YMCA for $80/month & a potential 2 hours a day of included childcare. Reading this was suck a relief!
I'm going to try to get in a few pages while co-piloting our mini road trip to Crowder's Mountain State Park today. Thanks for the rec, @lauracase! #amreading #westillread #wsrbooksof2014
Elsa in watercolor. Callista said she painted Elsa's hands blue because she's wearing her gloves still. ☺️
I need to get out of the dollar spot.
New Dollar Spot find!
until I tried to take a cuddling photo.
I got some quality post-nap cuddles today ...
One of my favorite ETC apps of all time - Letter School. Toby has gotten to Level 2, so the completed (shaded) letters now show what he actually drew. Proud mama!
Checkup day! ETC have been similarly sized & consistently staggered since their start, so I'm not sure why numbers like these are a surprise each time. Eleanor leapfrogged past Toby (she's not the peanut anymore!), though T did make a move up the WHO char
Kids & cats - what is it about cramming into tiny boxes? Meow!
Vomit. One victim, two occurrences, & ETC’s well check is in the morning. Ha!
I've done it! I've spent an obscene amount of money at Starbucks this year! ✨☕️
Callista, Toby, Eleanor! I'm impressed with those who were right! #tbt #triplets
Three years & a lifetime ago. I know who's who - do you? #tbt #triplets
Seasoned ground beef + shredded cheese + crescent rolls = homemade hot pockets. I sometimes come up with good ideas.
Quick blanket/yogurt break. It's sunny, but it isn't exactly warm! Don't tell ETC that. They're in denial - shivers & all! "Mom, this is FUN!!!!"
